Dinner had to be thought out and planned. I decided to meet my Sister and Father at the Pasta House Company off of South Lindbergh blvd in south county.
I went to Dottie’s Weight Loss Zone to get information on calories and what items were considered “light” on their menu.
Our waiter was very patient with me and provided nutionional information upon request, which was the same information found on Dottie’s Weight Loss Zone. I pondered over several menu items and went with the following:
The Pasta House Co. Special Salad (w/cheese, low fat dressing) (152 calories)
***I only half the salad because it was drenched with dressing. I’m sticking with my total because it feels like I ate more that 152 calories even though the dressing is very low in calories***
Chicken Ignatio (706 calories)
***I only ate ¾ of my meal, so I’m going to go with 600 Calories)***
Margarita Drink Small: 185 calories
***I found anywhere from 275 calories to 185 calories. Since the drink was small I’m going with the low-end***
Total Dinner Calories: 1043 calories
Total Calories for 7-29-2008: 1923 Calories
My Review of Pasta House: The service was the best of my overall experience. Our waiter, Gabe as mentioned previously was very helpful. For the salad, it was fair. Way too much dressing ruined the salad. For the Chicken Ignatio, it was not bad. The Chicken Ignatio contains the following: Grilled chicken breast served in a tomato marsala sauce with mushrooms, artichokes, capers and sundried tomatoes and served with steamed broccoli. The entrée was very bland and the sauce that was on the pasta was very runny. I had to put crushed red pepper on the meal to at least spice it up a little bit. This was a very plain entrée for Pasta House. They mention steamed broccoli, but I did not receive any with my meal. Another thing to mention about the Pasta House Company was their basic poorly designed web site. There is no nutritional information on their web site that I could find. For a restaurant that has several locations I would expect better results especially from an Italian restaurant in St. Louis. This is a Italian city. Just go to the Hill!! I am not recommending this restaurant for anyone trying to lose weight or counting calories. Total Stars: 1
