Service Size: 17 fl oz.
Total Calories: 300
Total Protein: 42 grams

Just like other meal replacement shakes, EAS has that weird “whey” taste to it. I bought a case of them so I’ll have them for awhile.

For lunch I went with a 6″ Subway Sandwich. Turkey Breast & Ham on Wheat.

Calories: 290

Added Chipotle Southwest Sauce to the sandwich to give it a little extra flavor. Subway’s web site says 100 calories and 1.5 gram of fat.

Calories: 100

Sandwich was dressed with Pickles, Black Olives, Bell Peppers, Jalapenos, and lettuce.

This was a great sandwich. Had a very fresh taste and filled me up.

Monday September 29, 2008

Good evening everyone. Well I’m trying to get back in the swing of things. Friday through Sunday was rough. I was busy and just was too lazy to update my blog. Since I have been doing this for awhile I believe I’m doing very well at watching portions and just not stuffing myself. I wanted to start fresh this week and try to stay diligent to my postings ever evening.

I went bowling tonight on my normal Monday night league. Shot a 146 for the 1st game, 200 2nd game and a 203 the third game. Tough night and I didn’t feel very good. I’m feeling a little better but I’m going to bed pretty soon here. Got my 300 ring tonight which was the highlight of the evening.

Today was an absolute nightmare at work. Nightmare in the since of being extremely busy and everyone wanting something today. I’m very blessed though to be busy and to have a very good job.

Listening to a new album tonight by the 90′s band Enigma titled “Seven Lives Many Faces”. Just started listening to it so I don’t have an opinion on the album yet.

Breakfast:

Kashi TLC Soft-Baked Rip Strawberry Breakfast Bars: 110 Calories
Mid-Morning Snack: Cool Ranch Doritos: 140 calories

Total for Breakfast: 250 Calories

Lunch:

Had a late lunch and still had some things at the office to put a quick sandwich together.

Healthy Life Bread (2 slices) – 80 calories

Sharp Cheddar Cheese: 90 Calories

Sarah Lee Black Pepper Turkey (6 slices): 90 calories

Total for lunch: 530 calories

Dinner:

For dinner I wanted to get something quick so I picked up Lion’s Choice for my wife and me.

BBQ Pork (360 cal/14 g fat/1 g fiber/33 g carbs)

Breakfast:

HOTZI Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit from QuikTrip: 400 Calories
Monster Energy Drink: 20 Calories

Total for Breakfast: 420 Calories

Mid morning Snack: Fiber One Bar: 140 calories

Lunch:

For Lunch on Monday I went with some co-workers to Noodles and Company.

Japanese Pan Noodles: 680 calories
Thin Cut Grilled Steak: 250 calories
Lite Minute Maid Lemonade: 20 calories

Total for Lunch: 950 calories

Dinner:

Dinner was sporadic tonight. Had a couple of meals on the go.

7-Eleven Jalapeno And Cream Cheese Taquito: 230 calories
Red Bull Energy Drink: 20 calories

Taco Bell Volcano Taco:

(Nutritional Facts – 1 taco – 240 calories)

Taco Bell Cheese Roll-Up: 200 calories

Why must Taco Bell insist on painting the taco shell red for their Volcano Taco to let you know that it’s spicy? Most people are probably functionally retarded during the times people are eating there at two in the morning, but it doesn’t give them carte blanche to rub it in their faces. We shouldn’t take this lying down, no matter how fat and lazy their food has made us!

This is Taco Bell flipping us off with one hand and biting their thumb with the other. We already knew that their product wasn’t healthy, but now they’re basically admitting the food is by no means real or to be taken seriously. You might as well swing by the drive-thru window and ask for a cup of Play-Doh so you can make your own taco shells at home.

Aside from the food coloring, I was excited about the prospect of a new affordable taco with a “cheesy lava sauce” that would allow me to spew fire and blow smoke from my head.

With the Volcano Taco, the cheese sauce overwhelms all of the other ingredients and leaves you with a rather tangy aftertaste. I wouldn’t say that it tastes like bad mayonnaise, but it does have a pretty thick and heavy mouth feel which threw me off a bit. In regards to the heat, I’d say that the red shell warning was unnecessary. It’s moderately spicy, but it’s not anything that will have you blowing fire or reaching for the nearest icy beverage.

Unless, of course, it’s to wash the taste out of your mouth.

Item: Taco Bell Volcano Taco
Price: 89 cents
Purchased at: Taco Bell
Rating: 4 out of 10
Pros: Cheaper than most of their items that come with cheese sauce. Moderately spicy. The ability to breathe fire.

Cons: Not nearly as spicy as advertised. Tangier and thicker sauce than I expected. Sauce masks the taste of lettuce, beef, and shredded cheese. Aftertaste is not pleasant

Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwich: 150 calories
Glass of skim milk: 90 calories

The above was a great snack if you are still hungry after a light dinner. My first dinner was early around 5:30 p.m. I was pretty impressed with KFC’s Nutritional information on their web site. You can add menu items to a shopping cart and it automatically calculates the total calories.
